Position Overview :

The General Manager is accountable for driving the overall performance and success of the location, ensuring optimal revenue generation, profitability, and operational efficiency. This leadership role involves overseeing multiple departments, fostering collaboration, and maintaining a strong focus on financial performance, customer satisfaction, and business growth. The General Manager plays a pivotal role in aligning the business with BELFOR’s financial targets, adhering to operational protocols, and developing strong client relationships to sustain long-term success.

Job Duties :

  • Lead the development, implementation, and optimization of operational systems, processes, and policies that align with the company’s strategic goals;
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration by working closely with Human Resources, Health and Safety, Marketing, Sales, and Finance to enhance departmental performance and overall organizational efficiency to ensure legislative compliance;
  • Take ownership of the financial management of the branch, ensuring the effective preparation and management of budgets, overseeing financial audits, and conducting regular financial reviews to monitor business health;
  • Oversee the management and execution of all projects, ensuring alignment with company objectives, adherence to timelines, and maximization of profitability, while providing guidance and support to Project Managers in scope definition and cost estimation;
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team by setting clear expectations, conducting performance evaluations, and ensuring ongoing employee growth and accountability;
  • Spearhead business development initiatives by identifying and implementing effective marketing strategies that drive productivity, expand market share, and increase revenue streams;
  • Maintain a customer-centric approach by ensuring the highest standards of service, promptly addressing concerns, and managing client relationships to support long-term business retention and satisfaction; and
  • Any other reasonable duties as assigned

Qualifications : i. Required :

  • 5+ years of experience as a leader in the construction, restoration, or insurance industry, with a track record of managing operations at a senior level;
  • Extensive experience in financial management, budgeting, and performance analysis;
  • Strong strategic thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving skills;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence both internal teams and external stakeholders;
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, balancing multiple priorities while ensuring quality and operational excellence; and
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a motor vehicle per BELFOR’s Auto Policy.

ii. Preferred :

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Project Management, Business Management, or a related field;
  • Experience with estimating, project management, and advanced safety certifications;
  • Expertise in managing large teams and driving cross-departmental initiatives; and
  • Proficiency in Xactimate and Xactanalysis.

iii. Job-Specific Training Provided :

  • Comprehensive training of BELFOR internal processes, procedures and systems; and
  • Other BELFOR-sponsored training courses as required.

Working Conditions :

  • Due to the nature of our business, this position will work normal business hours but may be required to work in the evenings, on-call, or outside normal working hours;
  • Perform tasks requiring mobility in tight or confined spaces, sustained physical activity (standing, lifting, walking, bending, kneeling), and working at heights over 5 feet as needed;
  • Sustained periods of physical activity, including but not limited to, standing, sitting, walking, bending, and kneeling;
  • Fit Testing of half and full-face masks as needed, annual certification required; and
  • Periodic travel is required.
