Our client, a leading player in the Industrial Distribution and Building Products sector, is seeking an experienced General Manager to oversee the operations of their keystone branch in the Greater Toronto Area. As the General Manager, you will oversee all branch operations, manage employees, and have full P&L and budget responsibilities. You will handle all financial aspects of the branch, work closely with the sales team, manage inventory, purchasing, and delivery, and set strategic goals in collaboration with senior management.

Responsibilities

Financial

• Full accountability for the profit/loss of the location.
• Prepare annual branch operating budgets and monitor actuals against targets.
• Collaborate with senior management to achieve financial goals.
• Develop and implement strategic plans to meet branch objectives.
• Control business expenses through established systems.

Sales

• Develop and coach sales staff to meet or exceed targets.
• Define sales strategies, promote key products, ensure excellent customer service, and increase order values.
• Engage with key clients and represent the company.

Inventory Management

• Work with sales to develop procurement strategies and maintain optimal inventory levels.
• Manage inventory procurement and delivery.

Operations & Safety

• Provide strategic direction for a safe and efficient warehouse.
• Oversee daily warehouse operations and ensure order accuracy.
• Maintain a positive and safe work environment.

The ideal candidate

Has strong experience in Industrial Distribution, Retail & Operations Management, with 3+ years of management experience. Demonstrates leadership, motivation, and a proactive approach. Possesses knowledge of industrial distribution within manufacturing, distribution, or retail sectors. Experience managing a location in a large Canadian market with high growth potential is preferred.
