About the opportunity

Are you a dynamic leader who is ready to take the reins of a thriving real estate portfolio within a respected, family-owned construction and development powerhouse?

We’re partnering with Cavanagh Realty, a well-established group in Eastern Ontario, to find a visionary General Manager to lead their expanding Realty division-a unique chance to own and grow a diverse portfolio spanning Commercial, Industrial, and Residential assets.

Your new role

As the General Manager, Cavanagh Realty, you will report directly to the Vice President of Cavanagh Group of Companies. In this role as General Manager, you’ll be the strategic and operational engine behind the Realty division’s success:

Command day-to-day operations across leasing, property management, and development with confidence and clarity.

Collaborate seamlessly with land development, finance, and construction teams to align goals, timelines, and budgets.

Own budgeting, rent collection, and financial reporting to maximize profitability and operational performance.

Lead commercial lease negotiations and cultivate strong, lasting tenant relationships.

Drive project delivery for new builds and portfolio expansions-including mid-density residential and mixed-use developments.

Architect and implement scalable systems and processes that boost efficiency and transparency.

Serve as the trusted liaison to senior leadership, delivering insightful updates on performance, risks, and new opportunities.

What you'll need to succeed

You are a strategic thinker with a hands-on, get-it-done approach, financially savvy with a knack for cost control, forecasting, and reporting. You're also an inspiring leader and clear communicator who thrives in fast-paced, evolving environments.

Collaborative and solutions-oriented, driven by the desire to build something meaningful and lasting.

10+ years of progressive leadership experience in real estate, construction, or property management.

Deep expertise in residential development, including multi-residential, townhomes, and semi-detached housing.

Proven track record managing commercial and industrial assets, from lease-up to tenant coordination.

Strong knowledge of Ontario’s development, permitting, and municipal landscape.

Demonstrated ability to build robust operational frameworks-from budgeting and pro formas to tenant services and facilities management.

Experience partnering with general contractors and internal teams to deliver projects on time and on budget.
