Job Summary:

Trane is hiring an Area General Manager for our Supply business to join our team in the Western Canada Region. You will lead our market-based distribution team to drive growth in residential equipment and supply businesses, maximize profitability, increase market share, and ensure customer loyalty.

Work location:

This position is designated as Remote within the Western Canadian District.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure overall customer satisfaction, handle high-level customer or national issues, and ensure effective customer review activities.
  • Develop and lead a team of sales and retail operations leaders, set vision, and create a high-performing team accountable for executing the district business plan.
  • Develop a highly engaged, winning culture within the region to enable a premier customer experience.
  • Lead district team communication strategy and set team vision.
  • Full P&L responsibility for achieving sales, margin, market share, and dealer growth targets within the geographic area.
  • Ensure compliance with all environment, health and safety, quality standards, and sales and operations processes.
  • Participate in regional business planning, budgeting, and forecasting; align resources with strategic initiatives.
  • Foster channel partnerships with wholesale distributors and sales offices.
  • Use HR resources to set goals, manage performance, and develop team members.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and regional issues, making recommendations as needed.
  • Promote operational excellence and ensure implementation of Sales Excellence processes.
  • Travel approximately 25%, including overnight stays.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Experience in sales and operations management required.
  • Proven leadership and customer relationship skills required.
  • HVAC knowledge preferred; familiarity with distribution and dealer sales, service, and installation practices is advantageous.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite.
  • Valid driver’s license for at least 12 months, with a clean record as specified.

Compensation:

Base pay starting at $130,000, plus a monthly incentive of 40%. Total compensation includes an incentive plan. Actual pay may vary based on experience, seniority, and location.
