About the Role

As a General Maintenance & Operator at Sylvite, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of equipment and facilities at our Kent Bridge location. This position is responsible for maintaining mobile equipment, supporting facility maintenance activities, and assisting with the day-to-day operation of our grain and crop input facility.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on mobile equipment including loaders, skid steers, forklifts, and other machinery.
• Establish, maintain, and track preventive maintenance schedules using maintenance software.
• Diagnose mechanical issues and complete repairs in a timely manner.
• Perform welding and fabrication repairs as required.
• Service equipment at branch and farm locations as needed.
• Repair and winterize small motorized equipment including water pumps, generators, and motorized augers.
• Assist with the maintenance and repair of conveyors, grain legs, turn heads, augers, grain handling equipment, and other facility infrastructure.
• Support grain handling and facility operations as required.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
• Perform routine site cleanup, housekeeping, and general maintenance duties.
• Respond to maintenance requests and operational priorities as assigned by the supervisor.
• Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations.

About You

• Minimum two years of experience working on agricultural, industrial, or heavy equipment.
• Working knowledge of agricultural facilities, grain elevators, or grain handling systems is preferred.
• Experience performing mechanical repairs and preventive maintenance.
• Welding and fabrication experience is considered an asset.
• Ability to work independently and conscientiously to keep equipment operational.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
• Physically capable of climbing grain legs, bins, and silos and handling heavy equipment.
• Ability to operate loaders, forklifts, and other mobile equipment.
• Must possess a valid G driver’s licence.
• AZ licence is considered an asset.
