Job summary

Clear Destination Inc. in Alberta is seeking a qualified Heavy Duty Mechanic to perform preventive maintenance and repair of heavy mobile equipment in a demanding mining operation.

Required are a 4-year Journeyman Certificate (Red Seal preferred for out-of-province applicants), off-road equipment experience, and a valid Class 5 license; strong troubleshooting, safety discipline and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Must hold a 4 Year Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic Certificate (Offroad and On HWY Certified). Red Seal if from outside Alberta.
• Experience with off-road equipment is required.
• Experience on Caterpillar (789C Haulers, 777C, G, F Haulers), Komatsu (PC4000, PC2000, PC1250 Excavators, HM400 Trucks), Hitachi (EX5600, EX5500, EX3600) is an asset.
• Troubleshooting experience with responsibility for results is necessary.
• Be physically fit and able to cooperate and work with others.
• Knowledge of safety and health practices and procedures is required.
• Able to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and changing priorities.
• Demonstrate self-motivation.
• Possess a valid Class 5 Driver’s License

• Mechanical repair and maintenance of heavy mobile equipment, mining equipment, and vehicles on an assigned shift in a continuous mining operation.
• Assuming other responsibilities as required in response to changing circumstances and the economic and physical environment of the Mine or Company.
• Complete all required administration tasks related to repairs and our preventative maintenance program.

Qualifications

• Possess a 4 Yr Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic Certificate ( Offroad and On HWY Certified ). Must be Red Seal if coming from Out of Province.
• Have experience with off road equipment.

• Previous experience on Caterpillar ( 789C Haulers, 777C,G,+F Haulers, D10T and D11T Dozers), Komatsu ( PC4000 Shovel, PC 2000 and PC1250 Excavators, HM400 Articulated Trucks ) ,and Hitachi ( EX5600, EX5500, and EX3600 Shovels ) equipment considered an asset.
• Troubleshooting experience with willingness to be responsible for results is necessary.
• Be physically fit and have the ability to cooperate and work effectively with others.
• Acquire and demonstrate knowledge of safety and health practices and procedures.
• Adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads and sudden or frequent changes in priority in order to accomplish objectives.
• Demonstrate self-motivation.
