Dumas Contracting Ltd. is hiring a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to maintain and repair the fleet of underground mining equipment. You will work on jumbos, bolters, scoops, and drills, ensuring reliability and safety in a fast-paced mine environment.

Position: Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Rotation: Dependent on Project Site – 5/2, 7/7, 14/14.

Shift: Dependent on Project Site – 10.5HRs, 11HRs, 12HRs.

Wage: $41.65/HR & Overtime + Potential for discretionary performance-based bonuses.

Employment Terms: Permanent Full-Time.

About the Role

As a Heavy Equipment Mechanic at Dumas, you will play a critical role in maintaining and repairing the fleet of heavy mining equipment that keeps our operations running safely and efficiently. You will work underground in a fast-paced setting, ensuring equipment reliability and minimizing downtime to support production goals while working safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing underground mining equipment, including jumbos, MacLean bolters, scoops, utility vehicles, and drills.
• Performing preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance and minimize downtime.
• Maintaining accurate records of repairs, inspections, and parts used.
• Responding promptly to equipment breakdowns and performing root cause analysis for failures.
• Ensuring compliance with Dumas and site-specific safety protocols and environmental regulations.
• Participating in workplace inspections and hazard assessments.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Heavy-Duty Equipment Mechanic, required.
• Valid Red Seal/Journeyman License/Certification in a Mechanic trade, required.
• Valid Ontario Underground Hard Rock Miner Common Core certification, preferred.
• Ability to work in physically demanding and confined environments, required.
• Must demonstrate excellent safety record and commitment to safe work practices.
