Job summary

Toromont Cat is seeking a General Machinist to handle the custom repair and restoration of mechanical parts and components for machinery repair. The role is full-time and permanent with a wage of $48.93 per hour as part of a total rewards package.

You will work within one of the safest organizations in the industry, with access to best-in-class equipment and opportunities to continuously learn and develop with our internal training teams across Eastern Canada.

Qualifications

• Certificate of Qualification as General Machinist.
• Minimum 5 years as General Machinist in a custom or Tool Room environment, with primary experience in machinery component repair and rebuild.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate safe work and environmentally sound behaviours at all times in support of Toromont’s Health and Safety Policy, Programs and initiatives.
• Responsible for manufacturing hydraulic cylinders.
• Custom repair and restoration of mechanical parts and components relating to machinery repair.
• Maintaining a clean and organized workspace & performing basic maintenance functions.
• Restore damaged steel and cast iron components by welding, line boring, disassembling and assembling of relative components.
• Maintain an inventory of materials used for fabrication process and account to various projects based on usage.

Our General Machinist is responsible for the custom repair and restoration of mechanical parts and components relating to machinery repair.
