Job summary

Toromont Cat is seeking a General Machinist to perform the custom repair and restoration of mechanical parts and components related to machinery repair.

You will work safely within a leading equipment dealer environment with access to premium Caterpillar brand equipment, and opportunities to learn and grow through internal training programs across Eastern Canada.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Certificate of Qualification as a General Machinist.
• Minimum of 5 years as a General Machinist in a custom or Tool Room environment with primary experience in machinery component repair and rebuild.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate safe work and environmentally sound behaviours in line with Toromont's Health and Safety policy.
• Responsible for manufacturing hydraulic cylinders.
• Perform custom repair and restoration of mechanical parts and components related to machinery repair.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace and perform basic maintenance functions.
• Restore damaged steel and cast iron components by welding, line boring, disassembling and assembling relative components.
• Maintain inventory of materials used for fabrication and track usage across projects.

• Maintain an inventory of materials used for fabrication process and account to various projects based on usage
