Job summary

Bird Nason Contracting Group is seeking an Apprentice Electrician (3rd or 4th year) for work in Fort Saskatchewan, AB. This role supports office renovations and electrical installations with a 3‑month duration.

Base hourly rate ranges from $37.03 to $41.66. Benefits provided per the collective agreement. Must have CSTS 2020, WHMIS 2015, MEWP, Fall Protection, and a valid Class 5 license with reliable transportation.

Qualifications

  • CSTS 2020 certification is required.
  • WHMIS 2015 certification is required.
  • MEWP experience or certification is required.
  • Fall Protection knowledge is required.
  • Strong safety awareness and ability to follow procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with office renovations, tenant improvements, and upgrades.
  • Install and replace lighting fixtures, switches, receptacles, and controls.
  • Perform lighting retrofits and energy-efficiency upgrades.
  • Install conduit, cable tray, and low-voltage wiring systems.
  • Pull, terminate, and test electrical conductors.
  • Assist with rough-in and finishing work for renovated spaces.
  • Read and interpret drawings and blueprints under supervision.
  • Troubleshoot basic electrical issues and support commissioning.
  • Move electrical devices to support changing layouts.
  • Operate lifts/EWP and keep area clean and safe.

Nason Contracting Group Ltd. is currently seeking a Apprentice Electrician (3rd or 4th yr) for work in Fort Saskatchewan, AB:

  • Duration - 3 months
What You Will Be Working On
  • Assisting with office renovations, tenant improvements, and commercial building upgrades.
  • Installing and replacing lighting fixtures, switches, receptacles, and lighting controls.
  • Performing lighting retrofits and energy-efficiency upgrades.
  • Installing conduit, cable tray, and low-voltage wiring systems.
  • Pulling, terminating, and testing electrical conductors.
  • Assisting with electrical rough-in and finishing work for renovated office spaces.
  • Reading and interpreting drawings, specifications, and blueprints under the direction of a Journeyperson Electrician.
  • Troubleshooting basic electrical issues and supporting commissioning activities.
  • Installing and relocating electrical devices to support changing office layouts.
  • Operating lifts and elevated work platforms (EWP) as required.
  • Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Following all company safety policies, hazard assessments, and PPE requirements.
What We Are Looking For
  • CSTS 2020

  • Fall Protection
  • Extensive knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions applicable to the work
  • The ability to lift, carry and handle weight up to 50lbs
  • Must be organized, self-driven, and have ability to understand and execute oral and written instructions
  • Must have a valid Class 5 drivers license to operate supplied company vehicles onsite.
  • Must provide own transportation to site.
