Job summary

JD Sweid Foods Ltd. is seeking General Labourers to support production in our facility in Southwestern Ontario. You will work under direction from the Production Lead Hand and Supervisors to process plant products in a safe, efficient manner in compliance with food safety standards.

The role requires adherence to HACCP principles, strong teamwork, reliable attendance, and the ability to work in cold/wet conditions with flexible hours. A hand truck and/or forklift license is a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience with food safety and HACCP principles.
• Dependable with above-average attendance.
• Strong mathematical skills and mechanical aptitude.
• Good communication and ability to work well in a team.
• Ability to work under pressure and with little supervision.
• Hand truck and/or forklift license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure proper assembly of products for production in a safe and efficient manner.
• Follow all safety, HACCP and process plans and guidelines.
• Maximize efficiencies where possible, minimize downtime, efficient change-overs and reporting mechanical problems promptly.
• Perform a variety of sorting and packing tasks.
• Perform line checks as needed.
• Perform all tasks to ensure compliance with specifications of the customer product.
• Adhere to food safety and HACCP principles.
• Keep work area clean, free of slip and trip hazards at all times.
• Other duties as directed by Production Lead Hands and Supervisors

Job description

Reporting to the Production Supervisors with direction from the Production Lead Hand, Production General Labour personnel are responsible for the efficient processing of plant products as directed by product SOP's and process requirements. All duties are performed in a safe and efficient manner. The General Labour personnel will be responsible for following established food safety and quality procedures. Provisions will be made to cover the absence of an employee in this position.
