Job summary

Maple Leaf Foods Inc. in Downsview, Ontario is seeking a General Labour to join the Production department. You will perform daily food processing activities on a fast-paced line, directly impacting efficiency and product quality.

The role offers an hourly wage of CAD 18.10–20.22, dayshift Monday–Friday with overtime as required, and benefits after 6 months. PPE is provided and teamwork and safety are emphasized.

Qualifications

• Able to work in a fast-paced environment with repetitive tasks.
• Able to stand and walk throughout the shift.
• Able to lift up to 27kgs repetitively.
• Good communication skills in English.
• Punctual, reliable and responsible.

Responsibilities

• Contributes to a healthy work environment while maintaining high food safety standards.
• Assemble and disassemble designated equipment.
• Work on the production line to process pork products.
• Place product onto racks and secure, ensuring separation.
• Check and weigh materials and/or product.
• Follow curing processes of salting and desalting hams.
• Check products for basic quality defects.
• Inspect, trim and remove quality defects from product.
• Move and lift skids, tanks and combos.
• Troubleshoot equipment as necessary and implement improvements.
• Help the department meet targets while maintaining safety and productivity.
• Contribute to team and facility performance.
