Job summary

Thompson's Iron & Metal Inc. in Gravenhurst, ON is seeking a General Labourer for our scrap yard. This full-time role offers steady hours Mon-Fri and the chance to work with a small, hardworking crew.

You will sort metals, load/unload trucks, break down scrap with hand tools and power tools, and keep the yard organized and safe. We provide training, development opportunities, and a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors year-round in all weather.
• Reliable — shows up on time, every day, ready to work.
• Able to take direction and work as part of a small crew.
• Safety-minded with steel-toe boots and a good attitude.
• Experience with hand/power tools, torches, or heavy equipment is an asset; training provided.
• Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation to the yard.

Responsibilities

We're a fast-growing scrap metal processing and demolition company based in Gravenhurst, and we're looking for a hard-working general labourer to join our yard crew.

What you'll be doing:

• Sorting and grading ferrous and non-ferrous metals
• Loading and unloading trucks and bins
• Breaking down scrap by hand and with power tools
• Keeping the yard clean, organized, and safe
• Assisting equipment operators and torch crew as needed
• Other duties as assigned — no two days are the same
