Your Role

As a General Help Associate, you will play an essential role in creating a positive experience for our consumers. You will be a versatile member of the Food Services team and may be required to work in various areas of the cafeteria, food preparation, and service operations, depending on operational needs.

You will participate in basic food preparation and setup, provide courteous and efficient service at various service counters, operate the cash register, and contribute to the cleanliness and smooth operation of the facilities. You may also be required to restock vending machines, make deliveries, and assist with catering services.

As a Food Services Associate, your customer service skills, versatility, and team spirit will contribute to creating a pleasant, welcoming, and positive experience for everyone.

This is an English-speaking position. French is not required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Work across various food service positions and areas, including the cafeteria, service counters, cash registers, and serving lines, according to operational needs.

• Perform basic food preparation and setup, including washing, peeling, cutting, and preparing fruits and vegetables.

• Provide efficient, courteous, and welcoming service in the various cafeteria and food service areas.

• Greet and serve consumers professionally, ensuring excellent food service and a positive customer experience.

• Operate the cash register, process transactions, and provide professional customer service.

• Transport pots, kettles, and food trays to workstations, ovens, and refrigerators in accordance with safety standards.

• Store food in designated areas while following proper packaging, dating, food safety, and stock rotation procedures.

• Follow approved recipes and production standards to ensure food quality, appropriate serving temperatures, and standard portion sizes.

• Monitor food temperatures and notify cooks of any temperatures that do not meet established standards.

• Distribute supplies, utensils, and small equipment as required by the food service operation.

• Restock vending machines and perform basic maintenance as required.

• Assist with the preparation and execution of catering services, including the preparation, transportation, setup, and service of food and supplies.

• Deliver food, supplies, or equipment as required by the operation.

• Plan daily food requirements and contribute to supply and inventory management.

• Perform general cleaning and maintenance duties in the cafeteria and facilities to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.

• Empty garbage and dispose of waste in designated areas.

• Address consumer concerns professionally and communicate relevant information to the supervisor.

• Ensure compliance with hygiene, food safety, sanitation, and safety standards at all times.

• Perform other related duties as required to support the smooth operation of Food Services.

Qualifications

• Experience in a cafeteria, restaurant, food service operation, or other food service environment is an asset.

• Experience in the food or food service industry, including healthcare, hotels, restaurants, or quick-service establishments, is an asset.

• Experience operating a cash register is an asset.

• Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to effectively manage a demanding workload and adapt to different tasks.

• The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team.

• Strong customer service skills and a positive, professional attitude.

• Knowledge of hygiene, sanitation, and food safety practices is an asset.

• The physical ability to perform the duties associated with the position, including food preparation, serving, cleaning, moving supplies, and transporting equipment.

The hourly wage for this position is 17.60$.Final compensation will be determined based on skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
