CHARACTER RIGGER

The Character Rigger will be responsible for developing high-quality rigged assets that support animation systems in a game development environment. This role requires a strong understanding of anatomy, rigging principles, and technical constraints of modern game engines. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with rigging leads and other departments to ensure assets meet both artistic and technical standards.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Rigging Lead to create rigged assets that meet platform and engine specifications.
  • Implement feedback from art leads and peers to refine rigging solutions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with rigged assets, ensuring functionality on target platforms.
  • Participate in team meetings to maintain clear and effective communication.
  • Consistently meet project deadlines and milestones.
  • Document new rigging tools, workflows, and techniques.
  • Contribute positively to team culture and creative problem‑solving.
Must‑haves
  • Minimum 3 years of professional rigging experience or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated rigging proficiency through portfolio or AA/BFA degree.
  • Expertise in Maya and ability to quickly adapt to new tools and workflows.
  • Strong understanding of human and animal anatomy.
  • Clean and efficient skinning practices.
  • Passion for game development and awareness of industry trends.
  • Proactive problem‑solving skills and willingness to tackle complex challenges.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to in‑studio workflows and tools.
Nice‑to‑haves
  • Experience with Unreal Engine 5.
  • Python scripting knowledge.
  • Familiarity with MotionBuilder.
  • Knowledge of cloth simulation or related technologies.
