Job summary

Huawei Canada has an immediate 8-16month Co-op opening for a Co-op Engineer. The Noah’s Ark lab focuses on AI research and advancing technologies to integrate into Huawei products, including LLMs and AI systems.

You will work on refactoring research prototypes, implement features for mobile apps, and deploy AI models on Huawei devices. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring research outcomes into Huawei’s mobile ecosystem, gaining practical experience in Android/HarmonyOS

Qualifications

• Pursuing a BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Software Engineering.
• Proficient in at least one of C/C++, Python, Typescript, or Java.
• Knowledge of Machine Learning.
• Excellent team player with strong collaboration and communication skills.
• Excellent documentation and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of mobile development such as Android and iOS is an asset.

Responsibilities

Driven by impactful, long-term projects, the aim is to enhance state-of-the‑art research while integrating innovations into the company's products and services, including LLMs, RL, NLP, computer vision, AI theory, and Autonomous driving.

About the job:

• Analyze and refactor source code from research prototypes
• Implement and test new features on Android or HarmonyOS demo apps

The total target annual compensation for this position ranges from $58,000 to $104,000 depending on education, experience, and demonstrated expertise.

Job requirements

About the ideal candidate:

• In pursuit of BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Software Engineering
• Proficient in at least one of the following programming languages: C/C++, Python, Typescript, or Java
• Knowledge of Machine Learning
• Excellent team player; strong collaboration and communication skills
• Excellent documentation and organization skills
