Job summary

Boyd Corporation in Niagara Falls, Canada, is seeking a hands-on Furnace Operator to support brazing furnace runs and assist when Furnace Technician is unavailable. You will prepare units, run furnaces, and help with post-run inspections, ensuring accuracy and safety.

This role emphasizes attention to detail, reading blueprints, and using micrometers and calipers. You will also maintain logs, follow SOPs, and coordinate with the Stack area as needed.

Qualifications

• High school or GED or technical diploma preferred.
• Proficient with micrometers, calipers, scales and other measuring tools.
• Ability to read tolerances and read blueprints.
• Experience in the Stack department preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and teamwork.
• Good reading/writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist Furnace Technician to prepare, operate, and complete furnace runs.
• Prepare units for brazing by inspecting components and recording logs.
• Unload furnaces after a run and help with post-run inspections.
• Step into furnace operation duties as needed during technician absence.
• Verify proper furnace program, setup, and safety checks.
• Support basic quality checks and document brazed components.
• Follow SOPs, safety guidelines, and keep area clean.
• Provide support to secondary manufacturing areas as needed.
• Perform basic maintenance tasks under supervision.
