Job summary

Hellenic Home for the Aged Inc. is seeking a Full-Time Live-In Superintendent to maintain the day-to-day operation of a 225-unit seniors’ complex and to support tenants across two Long Term Care facilities in Toronto and Scarborough.

The role involves on-site presence, maintaining safe and secure environments, overseeing common areas, and coordinating with Environmental Services. English and Greek language skills are an asset.

Qualifications

• Must be physically able to perform the duties of the position.
• Must be able to complete minor repairs and general maintenance.
• Excellent customer service skills are required.
• Previous experience as a Superintendent is an asset.
• Proficiency to speak English and Greek is an asset.
• Must be able to respond to on‑call building emergencies is required.

• Maintain the property in a clean, safe, and secure state.
• Maintain interior common areas, hallways, dining hall, and mechanical rooms.
• Maintain exterior grounds, entrances, walkways, driveways, lawns and planters.
• Keep logs of building equipment and report deficiencies.
• Clean and prepare vacant apartments for occupancy.
• Assist contractors with building access and support as directed.
• Work as part of the Environmental Services team.
• Be available on-call for emergencies outside regular hours as scheduled.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Hellenic Home for the Aged Inc. a not for profit, charitable organization, operating a 225- unit seniors’ apartment complex, two Long Term Care facilities, with 82 beds in Toronto, and 128 beds in Scarborough, an Adult Day program, and a Supportive Housing division, seeks a Human Resources Manager.

TheHellenic Home for the Aged provides a safe, welcoming and supportive community for seniors, that includes 225 independent-living apartments.

The Full-Time Live-In Superintendent plays an important role in maintaining the day-to-day operation and upkeep of the property and supporting the well‑being of our tenants.

Under the direction of the Environmental Services Manager, the Superintendent is responsible for:

• Maintaining the overall property in a clean, safe, and secure state.
• Maintaining the interior common areas, hallways, dining hall, mechanical rooms, and auxiliary spaces, in a clean, safe, and secure state.
• Maintaining the exterior grounds, the entrances, walkways, driveways, lawns and planters, common exterior areas including furniture, in a clean, safe, and secure state.
• Maintaining logs of building equipment and reporting deficiencies or supplies as needed.
• Cleaning and preparing apartment units when they become vacant for occupancy by new tenants.
• Assisting contractors with building access and support as directed.
• Working as part of the Environmental Services team.
• As a live‑in position, the Superintendent is required to be available on‑call for building‑related emergencies and urgent maintenance matters outside of regular working hours as per schedule.
• Performing other duties as assigned.
