Generations Cleaning is seeking a full-time Live-In Superintendent for a retirement building in Markham. The candidate should bring a strong handyman background, including plumbing, electrical, drywall, painting, and carpentry, to handle day-to-day maintenance and emergencies.

On-site 1-bedroom accommodations are provided along with wifi. Workweek is Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, with on-call for after-hours emergencies and focus on safety, upkeep, and tenant relations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a supervisor/handyman role in buildings.
• Strong handyman knowledge across plumbing, electrical, drywall, painting and carpentry.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable, self-sufficient, organized and motivated.
• Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS) and knowledge of sprinkler systems, boilers/HVAC, fire panels and generators.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and emergency repairs (plumbing leaks, electrical issues, drywall fixes, painting).
• Maintain HVAC, boiler, chiller, and generator systems.
• Respond quickly to urgent situations (on-call availability).
• Coordinate with contractors, cleaners, and property management staff.
• Ensure building cleanliness, safety, and security.
• Handle minor renovations and touch-ups in common areas and suites.
• Monitor maintenance records and conduct regular property inspections.
• Support move-ins and move-outs.
• Assist with rent collection and tenant relations.

Live-In Superintendent – Strong Handyman Focus (Retirement Building – Markham)

Generations Cleaning is a growing company proudly servicing a variety of commercial properties across the GTA, including large retail stores, condominiums, co-ops, apartment buildings, offices, medical facilities, and industrial sites.

We are currently seeking a Full-Time Live-In Superintendent for a retirement building located in Markham. This position is ideal for someone who brings a strong foundation in general handyman work, including plumbing, electrical, drywall repair, painting, and minor carpentry. You will be the go-to for day-to-day maintenance tasks and emergency issues, making you a key player in ensuring the safety, comfort, and upkeep of the building.

All maintenance supplies are provided on site, and while basic tools are available, bringing your own is considered an asset.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Perform routine and emergency repairs (plumbing leaks, electrical issues, drywall fixes, painting, etc.).
• Maintain HVAC, boiler, chiller, and generator systems.
• Respond quickly to urgent situations (on-call availability required).
• Coordinate with contractors, cleaners, and property management staff.

• Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS) and knowledge of:
  • Sprinkler systems (wet and dry).
  • Boiler and HVAC systems (glycol, chiller).
  • Fire panels, sump pumps, elevator and generator rooms.
