Qualifications

• Substantial hands-on software engineering in low-latency or real-time systems.
• Excellent Java capability, including concurrency, performance tuning & memory management.
• Strong debugging skills for complex production environments.
• Proficiency with Linux/UNIX command-line tools.
• Experience with automated software development workflows.
• Experience with containerized runtimes.
• Ability to collaborate across time zones.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and deploy enhancements to HSBC’s electronic trading platform
• Build scalable and high-performing capabilities for a global front office environment
• Oversee support and optimization of the services you and your colleagues deliver
• Partner with software engineers across time zones to deliver consistently and quickly
• Reduce toil and repetitive tasks by automating engineering and operational workflows
• Apply data-driven techniques to tune performance and improve runtime behavior
• Strengthen engineering workflows through high levels of automation and repeatability
• Improve platform stability through effective problem-solving and production debugging
