Job summary

Manulife Financial Corporation is seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to design, develop, test, and deliver scalable web applications from front-end to back-end.

You will work with React, Node.js, Express, JavaScript, HTML5 and CSS3 in a hybrid environment in Waterloo, Ontario, contributing to accessibility and DevOps practices while collaborating with clients and cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years Full Stack Software Engineer experience.
• Solid hands-on experience in React, Node.js, Express, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3 and front end tests.
• Experience designing React components with Redux; SSR knowledge is a plus.
• Strong CSS for responsive, accessible UI.
• Experience with accessibility testing throughout design and development.
• Understanding of agile and DevOps principles.
• Experience collaborating with clients and teams; strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Designs, develops, tests, delivers, maintains, and improves business applications across the full software development lifecycle.
• Designs end-user interfaces, databases, APIs and server-side logic for front- and back-end components.
• Applies disciplined coding practices to enable agility and high-quality code.
• Applies design patterns, automation, and semantic versioning where available.
• Conducts tests and analyses to ensure software meets standards and user requirements.
• Develops system design specifications and guides project development.
• Assists in developing automated test harnesses for quality code.
• Performs spikes to mitigate technical uncertainty and risk.
• Engages in peer reviews and continuous learning; contributes to innovations.
