Job summary

TEEMA is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer for a financial services client in Toronto. You will design and implement front-end React components and server-side Node.js/Typescript services in a cross-functional, agile team.

Hybrid role with three days on-site in downtown Toronto. You will work with AWS, Docker, PostgreSQL, and CI/CD pipelines to deliver reliable, scalable applications and contribute to code quality through reviews and testing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
• 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• 3+ years with NodeJS + Typescript.
• 3+ years with React.
• Experience with Docker.
• Experience with Node.js frameworks such as NestJS/Hono.
• Strong SQL knowledge and relational databases (PostgreSQL).
• Agile team experience and strong debugging/code quality skills.

Responsibilities

• Participate in all team activities (Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Reviews).
• Develop front end React components.
• Develop and test server-side code with Node.js and Typescript.

What you will be doing:

• You will participate and contribute on all team activities such as Sprint Planning, Sprint Execution, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review, Sprint Retrospective
• Develop front end React components
• Develop and test server-side code using NodeJs + Typescript
• Be comfortable using relational databases and have strong knowledge of SQL
• Perform peer reviews and ensure the quality of the team’s work
• Design and implement unit, integration, and automation tests
• Responsible for code integration and code deployment of existing modules as well as provide new pipelines for new modules (CI/CD)
• Have strong background in AWS services and practices.

What you must have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent
• 5+ years of experience with software engineering
• 3+ years of experience with NodeJS + Typescript
• 3+ years of experience with React
• Experience with Docker
• Experience developing server-side applications using Node.js frameworks such as or similar to NestJS/Hono
• Solid understanding of HTML5, ES6, CSS3, JavaScript and JavaScript frameworks
• Experience with source code management such as GIT
• Experience with relational databases (ideally PostgreSQL)
• Experience working on Agile teams
• Solid understanding and demonstrated proficiency with core software development processes – debugging, code tuning, code management and branching, coding styles and refactoring
• Must be self-motivated and driven, with strong analytical, problem solving, and communication skills.
• Knowledge of financial industry, specially accounting / general ledger will be preferred.

Salary/Rate Range:

CAD $120,000 – CAD $140,000

Other Information:

• Hybrid – 3 days/week onsite downtown Toronto
• 40 hour work week
