Job summary

Thrifty-Foods in Victoria, Canada is seeking an Assistant Department Manager to oversee daily department operations, support the department manager, and ensure top-tier customer service. The role focuses on merchandising, inventory management, and profitability in collaboration with store management.

You will lead, train, and feedback to staff, maintain the department image, and ensure health and safety standards are followed. Flexibility for overtime and standing for long periods is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; college diploma an asset.
• At least two years of experience in a retail environment or relevant department.
• Valuable management experience and knowledge of POS systems.
• Customer service orientation and strong communication with customers.
• Strong leadership, energy and creativity for team motivation.
• Flexibility to work varying hours and overtime.
• Willingness to stand for extended periods and lift up to 20 kg.
