Job summary

The Anglican Diocese of Ottawa is seeking a part-time Social Support Worker to assist Belong Ottawa participants. You will help in planning recreational activities, supervising mealtimes, and encouraging engagement in daily tasks, with reporting on program outcomes as required.

You will work closely with staff and volunteers to maintain a safe, welcoming centre and support outreach services as needed across our community programs.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in the social sciences, social work or equivalent experience and education.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a demanding and busy environment.
• Experience with high-risk populations and people who use drugs is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a safe and supportive environment at the Centre.
• Assist in planning and supervising recreational activities.
• Assist during mealtimes.
• Encourage participant engagement in program activities.
• Provide information, advocacy, and referrals within program policies.
• Support volunteers and mentor students as directed.
