Job summary

Ottawa Salus Corporation is seeking an Onsite Support Worker in Ottawa, Ontario to provide direct support to tenants of a 24-hour program, including counseling, group programming and crisis intervention. The role includes day, evening, overnight and weekend shifts, reporting to the Program Manager.

A bachelor’s degree in a related field and relevant experience are required, with English as the primary language and French considered an asset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in social work, psychology, social sciences or related field.
• Three years of experience working with clients in substance use and mental health.
• Two years of experience in residential or supportive housing settings is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Provide group support and facilitate programming.
• Offer supportive counseling and crisis intervention.
• Assist clients with life skills development.
• Support onboarding of new clients into the program.
• Maintain client records and documentation.
• Collaborate with community partners for client referrals.
