Job summary

1 Hotels in Toronto is seeking a Front Office Guide to join our Front Office team. You will create memorable guest experiences through efficient check-ins/check-outs, respond to guest requests, process payments, and collaborate across departments to ensure a seamless stay.

The ideal candidate has hospitality education, hotel experience, strong math and cash-handling skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office. Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays is required.

Qualifications

  • A degree or diploma is required; a degree or diploma in Hospitality Management is considered an asset.
  • Previous experience in a hotel environment required; experience in a luxury hospitality setting is considered an asset.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, follow standard cash handling procedures, and operate computerized point‑of‑sale systems.
  • Ability to speak an additional language or multiple languages is considered an asset.
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong team player with the ability to collaborate effectively and deliver seamless guest service.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Teams, and Outlook.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome and warmly greet guests upon arrival, creating a positive first impression.
  • Complete guest check-in and check-out procedures efficiently and accurately. Verify guest information, process payments, and manage room charges, deposits, and billing inquiries.
  • Provide information about hotel amenities, services, dining options, local attractions, and transportation.
  • Handle guest requests, concerns, and complaints professionally, ensuring timely resolution and guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain knowledge of hotel operations, room types, packages, promotions, and current events.
  • Assist guests with reservations, room changes, upgrades, and special requests.
  • Coordinate with Housekeeping, Engineering, Food & Beverage, and other departments to ensure seamless guest experiences.
  • Monitor and respond to guest communications through phone, email, and other service platforms.
  • Answer incoming calls and direct inquiries appropriately.
  • Maintain accurate records of guest interactions, requests, and service recovery efforts.
  • Follow all safety, security, and privacy procedures when handling guest information. Support arrivals, group arrivals, and special events as required.
  • Promote hotel services, amenities, and sustainability initiatives to enhance the guest experience.
  • Collaborate with team members to deliver smooth operations during high-volume periods.
  • Share knowledge of the hotel’s sustainability practices and the 1 Hotel Mission Program.

We’re currently searching for a Front Office Guide to join the 1 Hotel Toronto Front Office team. The Guide is responsible for creating memorable guest experiences through efficient check‑ins and check‑outs, responding to guest requests and inquiries, processing payments, maintaining accurate guest information, and collaborating with hotel departments to ensure a seamless stay.
