Job summary

Thrifty-Foods in Nanaimo, British Columbia is seeking friendly cashiers to provide customers with quick, accurate service at the front end. You will process transactions efficiently and maintain a welcoming checkout experience for every guest.

You will maintain the cash drawer, operate the service desk for lottery, refunds, bottle returns, and inquiries, and assist other departments as needed. Basic numeracy and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment are essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service processing transactions to meet customer needs.
• Maintain an accurate cash drawer following company policies and procedures.
• Operate Customer Service Desk following all procedures for lottery sales, refunds, bottle returns and inquiries.
• Maintain Front End Department merchandise.
• Participate in the training of junior staff.
• Adhere to, and implement all applicable company standards.
• Support additional departments and functions with other duties as required.
