The Loyalist Country Inn & Conference Centre

The Loyalist Country Inn and Conference Centre is a four-star independent hotel overlooking scenic Summerside Harbour in Summerside, Prince Edward Island. The hotel features 82 clean, comfortable, and fully appointed rooms, an indoor pool, fitness centre, business centre, 24-hour front desk, and an onsite restaurant/lounge offering room service. Prince Edward Island is known around the world for its sandy beaches, rich culture, and diverse culinary offerings. The City of Summerside has all those things and more. As Front Desk Supervisor, You Will

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the front desk, including scheduling and staff relations, addressing staff conflicts or issues, and managing guest issues or complaints.
  • Provide support, guidance, mentorship, and coaching to the front desk team.
  • Establish and maintain close working relationships with all departments of the hotel to ensure maximum cooperation, productivity, morale, and guest service.
  • Work with the Housekeeping/Maintenance manager to establish and implement a preventative maintenance program for function rooms, equipment, and prep areas.
  • Maintain a personal organization system for files and paperwork.
  • Communicate both verbally and in writing to provide clear direction to staff. Assign and instruct staff in details of work. Observe performance and encourage improvement.
  • Be familiar with all hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately.
  • Respond to guest service interactions in a professional and timely manner, achieving positive resolutions.
  • Resolve issues immediately and follow up to ensure the guest's satisfaction.
  • Manage all administrative duties as specified.
  • Perform any other job-related duties as assigned and required.

What You Bring

  • Front desk experience in a hotel environment.
  • Food Handling and Responsible Beverage Certificate is considered an asset.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Internet, and Point of Sales systems.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work with competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision while establishing and achieving daily and weekly goals.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent hotel data.
