Oxford Learning Stoney Creek is seeking a part-time French Teacher/Tutor to help students improve their French skills in Calgary, Alberta. This role involves teaching up to three students at different levels and delivering lessons both online and in-person.

Join the team at Oxford Learning Calgary Acadia as a part‑time French teacher/tutor/coach and gain valuable teaching experience.

Job Details

Location: Calgary, Alberta. Employment Type: Part time. Pay: $17.00 to $20.00 per hour. Hours: 4:00 pm–8:00 pm (after‑school, evenings) and some Saturdays 10:00 am–3:00 pm. Preference for commitment until the end of the school year and summer. Position is in‑person; relocation packages not available. Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.

Position Requirements

• Strong background in spoken and written French and English.
• Comfortable teaching up to Grade 9 level; Grade 12 preferred.
• Instruction conducted in French.
• Reliable attendance; ability to teach up to three students in small groups.
• Commuting ability to Calgary Acadia area.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree or comparable certification in a relevant field.
• Fourth‑year university students with extensive tutoring experience considered.
• Teaching certification an asset.
• Good knowledge of Grades 9‑12 French core curriculum.

Experience

• Experience teaching/tutoring French at Grade 9–12 (or equivalent) level.
• Strong English written and oral communication skills.
• Strong French skills and ability to guide students’ understanding.
• Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time.

Responsibilities (Position Details)

• Teach up to 3 students at a time at different levels.
• Deliver lessons online and in‑person (though the role is designated as in‑person).
• Follow Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies.
• Fill in post‑lesson notes.
• Complete daily student communication updates.
• Maintain a friendly and professional manner at all times.
