Job summary

Interac Corp. in Toronto is seeking a fraud strategy intern to help shape fraud risk management across the Canadian payments ecosystem.

You will conduct research on fraud trends, develop intelligence reports, and support knowledge management initiatives while collaborating with multiple teams to drive outcomes. The role offers a flexible hybrid work model, an internship term January–April 2027, and learning bootcamps designed to accelerate you.

Qualifications

• Strong research and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to evaluate opportunities with trade-offs, effort, cost, resource requirements and impact.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Curiosity and initiative with ability to work independently.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).

Responsibilities

• Conduct research on fraud trends, scam typologies, emerging risks and developments affecting the Canadian payments ecosystem.
• Support the development of fraud intelligence reports, executive briefings, presentations, and strategic materials.
• Assist with organization and maintenance of fraud knowledge repositories and SharePoint resources.
• Assess organization-wide access to fraud information and identify knowledge-sharing improvements.
• Collaborate with Product, Fraud Analytics, Countermeasures, and Compliance teams to gather requirements and feedback.
• Compile, analyze, and present findings to support fraud strategy initiatives and decision-making.
• Contribute to planning, coordinating and documenting fraud governance activities.
• Lead a defined term project and present recommendations at project end.
