Job summary

Ventus Construction Ltd. in Kelowna, BC is seeking a Framing Carpenter to join our on-site team. The role requires reading blueprints, cutting, assembling and installing wood framing, and coordinating work on active sites.

With 3–5 years of experience, you will supervise other workers and apprentices, maintain safety standards, and ensure projects meet codes and timelines. On-site with parking available in a dynamic construction environment.

Qualifications

  • Secondary school graduation required.
  • 3–5 years of carpentry experience.
  • Able to read blueprints and drawings to determine work requirements.
  • Familiar with building codes and safety standards.
  • Supervisory duties and training of apprentices.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare labour and material cost estimates.
  • Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements.
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials for wood and related products.
  • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems.
  • Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware.
  • Schedule and coordinate work on sites.
  • Instruct apprentices and supervise other workers.

  • Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools

  • Prepare tenders and quotations
  • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems
  • Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware
  • Schedule and co-ordinate work on sites
