FundyPros seeks skilled tradespeople for steel stud framing and drywall installation across Atlantic Canada. You will work on-site with travel as projects demand, emphasizing safety and quality.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years in steel stud framing, can read plans, and adheres to safety standards. Red Seal is preferred but not required; training and career progression are available.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience with steel-stud framing and drywall installation.
• Ability to read instructions on plans and work with data.
• Strong safety mindset and attention to quality.

Responsibilities

• Erect metal stud framing and install door and window frames.
• Install interior/exterior framing using hand and power tools.
• Attach metal lath and gypsum lath to studs.

• Report near misses or safety concerns to foreman promptly.

Qualifications

• The ability to work with a plan that is supported plan with facts and data
• High degree of respect, professionalism, safety consciousness, and integrity

• Red Seal is preferred but not required

Core Responsibility Areas:

Steel Stud Framing duties

• Erect metal stud framework, and install door and window frames
• Install interior/exterior heavy and light gauge framing for all applications, using hand and power tools
• Attach metal lath and beads
• Install metal stud framing and furring for interior drywall or plaster walls and ceilings, using hand and power tools
• Attach metal or gypsum lath to studs or furring using nails, screws, clips or wire ties

Health & Safety responsibilities

• Ensure the safe loading, staging and cleaning of the site
• Adhere to all FundyPros Health and Safety policies and practices to ensure a safe working environment for self and others
• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, hard hat, steel toe boots, masks and other safety personal protective equipment
• Adhere to fall arrest practices, and other construction safety procedures
• Report near misses, or potential safety threats and or accidents immediately to foreman

Education and Expertise Required:

The position requires that the incumbent have the following educational skills:

• Reading skills to be able to read instructions on various tasks related to the work being completed
• Mathematical Skills to be able to add, subtract and multiply figures and measurements
• Must be aware of safety practices, for example when using ladders, scaffolds, power tools, knives and materials.
