Job summary

William Osler Health System is seeking an Orthopaedic Technologist for the Fracture Clinic. This part-time, 12-month temporary position reports to the fracture/orthopedic team and operates within ambulatory care areas.

The role involves applying, adjusting and removing casts and traction devices, with shifts mainly during daytime hours. The successful candidate will have strong communication, teamwork, and emergency care experience, and meet the educational requirement of Grade 12 or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent required.
• Current registration with Canadian Society of Orthopedic Technologist preferred.
• Three years experience as ortho technologist preferred.
• Good communication skills (verbal and written) required.
• Emergency experience required.
• Good interpersonal skills, ability to work with a multidisciplinary team required.
• Knowledge and use of basic computer program preferred.
• Must demonstrate Osler's Values of Respect, Excellence, Service, Compassion, Innovation and Collaboration.
• Good attendance and work record.
• May be required to travel between and work at all Osler sites.

Responsibilities

• Provides care to clients with orthopedic problems through the application, adjustment and removal of a variety of cast splints and traction fittings following medical orders of the ortho/plastic surgeon or the most responsible physician of the patient
