Job summary

Aviya Aerospace Systems in Mississauga is seeking a Hardware Engineer with FPGA/DO-254 expertise to join our engineering group. You will work on hardware test panels, design and verify circuits, and support aerospace certification activities.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering or equivalent and 4–10 years of relevant experience, with strong debugging and communication skills. Collaboration with customers and design reviews are part of the responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 4 to 10 years of relevant engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of Circuit design, PCB design, Power electronics and Signal processing.
• Experience with FPGA platform and ProASIC3.
• Experience with DO-254 certification (DAL Level C).
• Familiar with microcontrollers and embedded C programming.
• Some experience with Cables and Harness Design/Assembly.
• Working knowledge of PCB/CAD Software.
• Experience with PCB Design/Assembly.
• Expertise in hardware design activities pertaining to requirement definition and management.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of the Hardware Test Engineering team on hardware test panel development for product test, verification and aerospace certification.
• Design/prototype/implement/test/documents circuits and signal processing subsystems to satisfy requirements.
• Support system verification and validation.
• Document changes/analysis for new circuits or modifications.
• Troubleshoot test bench systems when needed.
• Support at customer meetings and design reviews and perform independent design and analysis of complex designs as required.
• General maintenance of existing test bench systems.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.

We have an immediate opening for a Hardware Engineer with expertise in FPGA and DO-254 to join our engineering group in Mississauga.

• Work as part of the Hardware Test Engineering team on activities associated with hardware test panel development for product test, verification and aerospace certification.
• Design/protoype/implement/test/documents circuits and signal processing subsystems as needed to satisfy requirements.
• Support system verification and validation.
• Document changes/analysis for new circuits or modifications.
• Responsible for troubleshooting test bench systems when needed.
• Support at customer meetings and design reviews and perform independent design and analysis of complex designs as required.

• Ability to solder and use diagnostic tools like Digital Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, Signal Generators.
• Experience with FPGA platform/development environment ProASIC3.
• Experience with DO-254 certification (DAL Level C).
• Familiar with microcontrollers and embedded C programming.
• Some experience with Cables and Harness Design/Assembly.
• Working knowledge of PCB/CAD Software.
• Experience with PCB Design/Assembly.
• Expertise in hardware design activities pertaining to requirement definition and management, including requirements decomposition, requirements traceability.
• Must be able to work in a team as well as independently.
• Very strong oral and written communication skills.
