Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 4 to 10 years of relevant engineering experience is required.
• Strong circuit, PCB design, power electronics and signal processing knowledge.
• Excellent troubleshooting and debugging abilities.
• Able to solder and use diagnostic tools (DSO, scopes, generators).
• Experience with FPGA platforms and ProASIC3 is preferred.
• Familiar with DO-254 certification (DAL Level C).
• Embedded C programming and microcontroller experience favored.

Responsibilities

• Work with Hardware Test Engineering on hardware test panels for product testing and aerospace certification.
• Design, prototype, implement, test, and document circuits and signal processing subsystems.
• Support system verification and validation activities.
• Document changes and analyses for new circuits or modifications.
• Troubleshoot test bench systems as needed.
• Attend customer meetings and design reviews; perform independent design analysis.
• Maintain and update existing test bench systems.
• Perform other assigned tasks as required.

Job description

Aviya provides expertise in program management, systems, software, mechanical, and hardware engineering to many of the top-tier Aerospace and Defense Contractors. We have an immediate opening for a Hardware Engineer with expertise in FPGA and DO-254 to join our engineering group in Mississauga.

Specific Position Duties

• Work as part of the Hardware Test Engineering team on activities associated with hardware test panel development for product test, verification and aerospace certification.
• Design/protoype/implement/test/documents circuits and signal processing subsystems as needed to satisfy requirements.
• Support system verification and validation.
• Document changes/analysis for new circuits or modifications.
• Responsible for troubleshooting test bench systems when needed.
• Support at customer meetings and design reviews and perform independent design and analysis of complex designs as required.
• General maintenance of existing test bench systems.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications for Position

• Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 4 to 10 years of relevant engineering experience is required.
• Good working knowledge of Circuit Design, PCB Design, Power Electronics and Signal Processing.
• Excellent troubleshooting/debugging abilities.
• Ability to solder and use diagnostic tools like Digital Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, Signal Generators.
• Experience with FPGA platform/development environment ProASIC3.
• Experience with DO-254 certification (DAL Level C).
• Familiar with microcontrollers and embedded C programming.
• Some experience with Cables and Harness Design/Assembly.
• Working knowledge of PCB/CAD Software.
• Experience with PCB Design/Assembly.
• Expertise in hardware design activities pertaining to requirement definition and management, including requirements decomposition, requirements traceability.
• Must be able to work in a team as well as independently.
• Very strong oral and written communication skills.

$80,000 - $120,000 a year
