Job summary

Aviya Aerospace Systems in Mississauga seeks a Hardware Engineer with FPGA and DO-254 experience to join our engineering group. You will contribute to hardware design, verification, and certification activities, and support test benches and subsystem development.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering and 4–10 years of related experience. Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills are essential for success in this aerospace environment.

Qualifications

• Electrical engineering degree with 4–10 years of experience.
• Strong knowledge in circuit, PCB design, power electronics and signal processing.
• Excellent troubleshooting and debugging abilities.
• Soldering and use of diagnostic tools such as digital analyzers, oscilloscopes and signal generators.
• Experience with FPGA platforms and ProASIC3.
• Experience with DO-254 certification (DAL Level C).
• Familiar with microcontrollers and embedded C programming.
• Experience with cables and harness design/assembly.
• Working knowledge of PCB CAD software and PCB design/assembly.
• Ability to define and manage hardware requirements with traceability.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Work with Hardware Test Engineering on hardware test panel development for product test, verification and aerospace certification.
• Design, prototype, implement, test and document circuits and signal processing subsystems.
• Support system verification and validation.
• Document changes/analysis for new circuits or modifications.
• Troubleshoot test bench systems as needed.
• Attend customer meetings and design reviews; perform independent design/analysis.
• Maintain existing test bench systems.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.

Job description

We have an immediate opening for a Hardware Engineer with expertise in FPGA and DO-254 to join our engineering group in Mississauga.

Specific Position Duties

• Work as part of the Hardware Test Engineering team on activities associated with hardware test panel development for product test, verification and aerospace certification.
• Design/protoype/implement/test/documents circuits and signal processing subsystems as needed to satisfy requirements.
• Support system verification and validation.
• Document changes/analysis for new circuits or modifications.
• Responsible for troubleshooting test bench systems when needed.
• Support at customer meetings and design reviews and perform independent design and analysis of complex designs as required.
• General maintenance of existing test bench systems.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications for Position

• Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 4 to 10 years of relevant engineering experience is required.
• Good working knowledge of Circuit Design, PCB Design, Power Electronics and Signal Processing.

• Very strong oral and written communication skills.
