Lumentum Canada in Ottawa is seeking an FPGA Designer to advance our optical technology platforms. You will focus on designing control and datapath logic for FPGA implementations and work closely with hardware, firmware, and software teams to validate designs.

Qualifications

• Experience in ASIC or FPGA design and simulation using Verilog/SystemVerilog.
• Experience with synthesis, constraints, timing analysis, clock domain crossing.
• Experience with AMD(Xilinx) or Altera FPGAs and tools.
• Collaborative team player who works effectively with cross-functional groups and contributes to multi-designer projects.
• Clear, robust, and well commented coding style.
• Problem solving, troubleshooting, and debugging skills.
• Thorough and detail-oriented approach.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• FPGA design: Implementation of control and datapath logic. IP core configuration and integration.
• Verification: Support test plan creation & simulation environment development. Assist with debugging activities.
• Lab validation & debugging: Collaborate with hardware and firmware engineers for cross-functional integration and lab validation to ensure system-level performance goals are met. Develop and execute scripts for automated testing.
• Synthesis & optimization: Constraints implementation and optimization, thorough analysis of build and timing reports to ensure robustness.
• Documentation: Create and maintain high-quality design and test documentation, contributing to project knowledge bases and future reference.
