The FP&A Senior Analyst will provide support for the Planning & Analysis function and will be a Finance Business Partner to key budget owners in the organization. The Senior Financial Analyst will use their expertise to guide the team on management & financial reporting, financial modeling, and problem-solving to help drive revenue and reduce costs.

You'll be responsible for:

  1. Projects, New Businesses Support:
    1. Assisting with business casing by creating financial models to determine feasibility of projects (metrics include Net Present Value (NPV) calculations) including challenging assumptions & data.
    2. Supporting the development of commercial models, pricing, KPI’s, and dashboards for new business units/products to generate value-added insights and recommendations to drive business growth.
    3. Assisting in developing and maintaining revenue models to support short-term and long-term projections.
    4. Conducting comprehensive analyses on ad-hoc requests related to product/service pricing.
    5. Setting billing and reporting for new product offerings.
    6. Developing good knowledge of product by working with subject matter experts and provide financial perspective and guidance to support business performance objectives.
    7. Preparing, reviewing, and communicating project financial results to senior management and key stakeholders.
    8. Working with business partners to develop forecasts & budget, including multi-year rolling forecasts. Gathering financial and qualitative information to perform due diligence and validation.
    9. Assisting with the analysis of the departmental inputs and preparation of the financial projections.
    10. Advising business owners on options to get financials on track to budget, help identify risks and costs savings opportunities.
    11. Providing financial inputs to Management reports, Board/Shareholder reporting, and the annual 10-year forecast.
  2. Month End Reporting:
    1. Assisting in preparing and reviewing business unit, product, and project financial statements, including making appropriate accruals.
    2. Assisting in the preparation of monthly financial packages inclusive of variance commentary.
    3. Reviewing financial statement variances to ensure appropriateness of revenues &/or expenses.
    4. Meeting with budget owners monthly to review results, explain variances against budget &/or forecast, and offer directions to help budget owners get back to budget.
    5. Analyzing information and develop reports to drive the business to improve performance.
    6. Supporting intercompany accruals and reconciliation, shared resources allocations.
  3. Additional Accountabilities:
    1. Assisting in the creation of various reports for management and for board packages.
    2. Assisting the accounting department with year-end analysis and other as required.
    3. Supporting continuous process improvement.
    4. Other financial projects as required.

You bring:

  1. A university degree in Accounting or Finance.
  2. Accounting designation is a plus.
  3. Minimum 2+ years’ experience in budgeting, forecasting and monthly financial statement analysis.
  4. Business casing, financial modelling experience is a plus.
  5. Knowledge of Canadian ASPE Accounting Standards.
  6. Solid problem-solving skills, highly analytical.
  7. Excellent communication and influencing skills; ability to create story behind numbers.
  8. Team player attitude, ability to develop strong working relationships with related team members, business partners.
  9. Open, honest customer-centric, positive attitude.
  10. Experience in JDE or other enterprise accounting software is an asset.
  11. Eligibility to work for Interac Corp. in Canada in a full-time capacity.
