Responsibilities

• Place, level and finish concrete surfaces with appropriate methods and tools.
• Operate and maintain required equipment; ensure quality, safety and compliance with specifications.
• Labourers support crews by handling materials, cleaning work areas and assisting with site tasks.
• Follow safety procedures and work with the crew in varying weather conditions.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role based in Ottawa, ON for Formsetters, Concrete Finishers, and Labourers. Team members will assist with project setup, including site preparation, layout, and formwork installation for foundations, slabs, sidewalks, and other structural elements. Daily tasks include placing, leveling, and finishing concrete surfaces, operating appropriate tools and equipment, and ensuring quality, safety, and compliance with job specifications. Labourers will support crews by handling materials, cleaning and maintaining work areas, and assisting with equipment setup and basic site tasks. All personnel are expected to follow safety procedures, collaborate effectively with the crew, and work in varying weather conditions and physical environments.

Qualifications

• Ability to work safely and effectively with power tools and related construction equipment.
• Practical experience with formwork, including setting, bracing, and stripping forms for concrete structures.
• Skills in concrete flatwork, such as placing, screeding, troweling, edging, and finishing slabs and flat surfaces.
• Basic carpentry abilities for building and adjusting forms, and performing related structural tasks.
• Experience operating or assisting with heavy equipment used in concrete and site preparation work.
• Strong awareness of job-site safety practices and willingness to follow all safety guidelines and PPE requirements.
• Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting, bending, standing for extended periods, and working outdoors.
• Reliable transportation to Ottawa, ON job sites and consistent punctuality.
• Previous experience in concrete construction or general construction is an asset; apprenticeship or trade certification is beneficial.
• Ability to cooperate with diverse team members, follow instructions, and maintain a professional attitude toward clients and coworkers.
