Job summary

Nortera Foods Inc. is seeking a dedicated Forklift Operator for our Packaging team in a fast-paced perishable vegetables environment. You will safely operate forklifts to load, unload, move and stack materials while adhering to strict safety protocols.

The role requires daily data entry, use of handheld scanners, and occasional cross-training across departments. Rotating day/night shifts, with an emphasis on reliability and teamwork, offers growth within a growing company.

Qualifications

• Successfully pass site-specific practical forklift training.
• Medium to heavy lifting capability: approx. 5-25 kg (11-55 lbs).
• Rotating 8-hour shifts (Mon-Fri) with bi-weekly rotation between Days, Afternoons, Nights.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a forklift to pile and take down bulk product up to six pallets high.
• Safe loading and unloading of both dry and frozen freight.
• Enters data using a computer inventory management system.
• Uses handhelds and truck mounted scanners to support pallet transfers between locations.
• Performs daily forklift safety checks including battery changes and PPE.
• Organizes materials and supplies for shift start and properly stacks/stores leftovers.
• Communicates tote needs and tote issues to supervisor and quality control.
• Provide coverage for forklift drivers and move to areas as production needs.
• Label products and fill out paperwork daily.
• Adhere to safety procedures including Lock Out/Tag Out and PPE.
• Follow directions from supervisor/lead.
