Job summary

Superior-Cabinets in Saskatoon seeks a Forklift Operator for our Manufacturing Plant. You will support receiving, sorting, and distributing materials, and operate forklift to move goods to cutting equipment and storage locations.

This role emphasizes safety, accuracy in inventory data entry, and collaboration with Materials Manager. Valid Saskatchewan driver’s license and forklift certification or relevant experience are required; we offer training and benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Unload deliveries safely and organize for storage and downstream use.
  • Enter receipt data into the system for full/partial PO receipt.
  • Load panel deliveries onto cutting equipment as required.
  • Receive vendor products and distribute to appropriate locations.
  • Deliver parts to other sites and storage areas as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and dispose of waste per standards.
  • Perform forklift safety checks and document results.
  • Report any errors, damages or discrepancies promptly.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Job description

The Forklift Operator works with our Manufacturing and Materials teams to support the transfer of incoming shipments into our facility and the receipt of deliveries within our computer operation system.

Reports to: Materials Manager

Direct Reports: None

Location: Manufacturing Plant

Main Responsibilities:

  • Unload product deliveries in a safe and organized manner to prevent damage.
  • Confirm all items have been received, and enter information into the system to show complete or partial receipt of the items for the applicable Purchase Order.
  • Load panel deliveries onto the necessary cutting equipment.
  • Receive outside vendor product and sort and distribute as necessary.
  • Deliver parts to other sites as required (Custom Shop, inventory storage locations, etc.).
  • Remove full bins of cardboard and cut off pieces to the back of the yard for disposal.
  • Report all errors, damages, and discrepancies immediately to the Purchaser or Materials Manager.
  • Ensure all products received have been packaged and delivered to company standards.
  • Ensure forklift safety checks are completed and documented.
  • Adhere to all safety requirements.
  • Maintain a clean and efficient environment by ensuring received products do not sit long before moving to their destination (saws, pallet racking, inventory locations etc.).
  • Provide exceptional customer service while interacting with internal and external customers.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Experience with functioning in a fast-paced environment.

Education and/or Training:

  • Valid Saskatchewan driver’s license.
  • Forklift certification or relevant experience (we can certify).
