Job summary

Interfor Corporation seeks a Woodlands Supervisor to plan and supervise road construction, maintenance, harvesting and log hauling for the Timmins sawmill. You will prepare short- and long-term plans, oversee contractors and monitor costs to ensure safe, efficient wood supply.

Applicants should have a university degree or college diploma in forestry or business, 5+ years in forest operations planning, strong OH&S knowledge, and excellent communication with a bilingual asset.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in forestry or business or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years in forest operations planning and costing.
• Familiar with OH&S Act regulations and forestry laws.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; bilingual is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Supervise forest operations planning, road construction and log hauling.
• Prepare short- and long-term operational plans and optimize resource use.
• Oversee and coach service contractors.
• Monitor safety, costs and weekly production for operations.
• Liaise with MNRF and coordinate block prep with contractors.
• Ensure activities support production targets and wood quality.
