Job description

Thompson Infinity is seeking a skilled Log Truck Driver to join our Forestry Division. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely transporting logs from the forest to processing facilities. This role requires a high level of driving expertise, knowledge of forestry operations, and a commitment to safety.

Responsibilities:

  1. Operate log trucks to transport logs from logging sites to processing or storage facilities.
  2. Ensure loads are secure and meet all safety standards.
  3. Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle.
  4. Adhere to all transportation and safety regulations.
  5. Communicate with forestry teams to coordinate load pickups and deliveries.
  6. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, vehicle maintenance, and load details.

Qualifications:

  1. Valid Class 1 driver’s license with air brake endorsement.
  2. Proven experience as a log truck driver or in a similar role.
  3. Strong knowledge of transportation safety protocols.
  4. Ability to operate log trucks in challenging terrain and weather conditions.
  5. Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  7. Construction Safety Training Systems (CSTS) Certification.
  8. Oil Sands Safety Association (OSSA) Certification, BSO or CSO equivalent.
  9. Must be able to pass a pre-access drug and alcohol test.
