Qualifications

Description

The Foreman is responsible for assisting with the coordination and direction of workload for the Service department to achieve maximum efficiency and productivity, while directly quality repair work. The Foreman is also responsible for making recommendations to the Service Manager regarding technician skills, performance, and training needs.

What You Will Be Responsible For

Service Operations & Customer Support

  • Assign jobs and work orders to technicians based on their skills and experience to ensure efficient and timely job completion.
  • Provide accurate quotes and estimates while maintaining clear, professional communication with customers throughout the repair process to ensure transparency and satisfaction.
  • Assist in evaluating incoming repair orders to prioritize work and allocate resources effectively.
  • Participate in equipment repairs when required to support timely service completion and maintain departmental productivity.
  • Monitor progress and review repair orders for accuracy and completeness to ensure efficient service documentation and customer satisfaction.
  • Support technicians by providing diagnostic guidance and responding to repair inquiries to ensure issues are resolved quickly and accurately.
  • Approve release of equipment for delivery after verifying quality and completion of work to uphold service standards.
  • Arrange and participate in reconditioning of used equipment and setup of new units to ensure readiness for delivery.

Tools, Training & Safety

  • Maintain special tooling by inspecting, repairing, and recommending new tooling as required.
  • Coordinate and schedule in-house technician training to support ongoing technical development and compliance with certification standards.
  • Demonstrate safe workplace procedures and equipment operation to promote a culture of safety and accountability.
  • Assist in organizing and conducting quarterly safety meetings to reinforce safe work practices and compliance.

Leadership & Administrative Support

  • Advise the Service Manager of all customer complaints to ensure timely resolution and maintain service quality.
  • Maintain strong housekeeping to provide a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
  • Support service leadership by stepping into the Service Manager role during absences to ensure continuity of operations.
  • Assist with delivering performance feedback and disciplinary recommendations to support technician development and maintain service standards.
  • Bill a minimum of 50% of available time.
  • Other duties as assigned.
What We Look For
  • 3+ years’ experience as a Service Technician, Journeyperson certification considered an asset.
  • Ability to lead, coach, and motivate others.
  • Ability to use standard desktop applications such as Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, negotiate, and resolve conflict.
  • Basic understanding of financial principles related to service department operations.
  • Experience in diagnosis/troubleshooting and aftertreatment systems considered an asset.
