EA SPORTS FC is seeking a Gameplay Designer to define, document and verify features that shape authentic football experiences for millions of players. You will translate football knowledge and gameplay mechanics into elegant design solutions and collaborate with disciplines across the Vancouver studio in a hybrid work setting.

You will balance large gameplay systems, mentor junior designers, and contribute to tooling and design processes, ensuring decisions align with a shared product vision.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in a game production or design role.
• Extensive knowledge of game design processes, techniques and principles.
• Great eye for game quality and empathy for the player.
• Passion and knowledge of football and the EA SPORTS FC franchise.
• Curiosity and willingness to investigate design topics and in-game issues.
• Technical proficiency in game development engines and tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, document, develop and balance large gameplay systems and features from concept through to release.
• Create innovative and engaging gameplay experiences that are unique to game modes within FC.
• Thoroughly document and communicate the game's design to the team.
• Incorporate ideas and feedback from across the gameplay team.
• Mentor junior designers and promote good design principles across the team.
• Work with animation, art, audio, design, programming, and visual effects to develop features.
• Give concise and helpful feedback to help improve the game.
• Contribute to the development of tools and design processes to improve how the team works.
• Follow direction and justify design decisions based on a shared product vision.
