Job description

At Schlegel Villages, our Food Service Managers provide leadership in the preparation and serving of food, maintaining the food services department to meet and exceed all standards prescribed by Public Health and Ministry of Health inspections. The Food Services Manager is responsible for ensuring that the dietary and nutritional requirements of all residents are met, with regular assessments completed.

The New Village of Ridgeview Court, located in Milton, Ontario, has an exciting opportunity for a FOOD SERVICES MANAGER to join their Long-Term Care Team.

To be successful as our new Food Services Manager, you will:

• Have proven experience in large-quantity food preparation and purchasing, including financial planning;
• Experience leading and inspiring a large food services team in a unionized environment;
• Familiarity with Ontario Food Premises Regulation, CCHSA Ontario Long Term Care Facility Program manual, Long Term Care Homes Act, and OH&S Act;
• Active membership in the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management (C.S.N.M.)

As a new Food Services Manager, you will:

• Support and embrace our resident-centered social culture and be proud to deliver the highest quality hospitality services to our residents;
• Lead and support the food service team with hands-on training, coaching, and leadership, while maintaining the department to exceed standards;
• Ensure diet and nutritional requirements are met, with regular assessments completed;
• Plan and support catering functions within the village;

• Manage purchasing, department schedules, and payroll duties.
