Job summary

GEF Seniors Housing in Edmonton is hiring for a part-time night kitchen position. The role involves 15 hours per week on a 11:30 PM to 7:30 AM rotating schedule, including weekends, with pay between $19.05 and $23.10 per hour. Duties include food preparation, cooking, baking, labeling, and keeping kitchen areas clean.

Strong English communication and customer service are essential. Experience in food preparation or serving in a dining room is preferred.

Part Time, Nights, 15 hours per week, 11:30PM to 7:30AM, 3-week rotating schedule

Week 1: Saturday, Sunday

Week 2: Friday, Wednesday

Week 3: Monday, Tuesday

Pay Scale

$19.05 - $23.10 per hour

Typical Duties

Food preparation, cooking, baking, portioning and labeling food, cleaning kitchen areas and equipment, dishwashing, preparing meals, beverages, sandwiches, salads and snacks, peeling and chopping vegetables, assisting with meal services and beverages, and other site-specific duties as assigned.

Experience/Education Preferences

• Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal are required
• Experience in food preparation and baking is an asset
• Experience as a server in a dining room is preferred

Other Requirements

• Strong customer service skills, including the ability to interact with everyone in a respectful manner
• Ability to read and follow standard recipes and work in a sanitary manner
• Ability to demonstrate responsible judgement in problem solving
• Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team
