The Food Service Worker will p erform standardized food services work for College of the North Atlantic's Happy Valley-Goose Bay campus by:

• Assisting with preparation work in the kitchen - chopping vegetables, portioning ingredients, and setting up food stations.
• Reheating and serving meals - safely reheat meals following food safety practices and present meals in an appetizing manner.
• Cleaning and sanitizing workstations - regularly wiping surfaces, sanitizing high-touch areas, ensuring that the kitchen meets food safety and occupational health standards.
• Cleaning and sanitizing kitchen equipment - properly sanitize and store dishes, utensils, and kitchen tools.
• Operating a computerized cash register - process cash, debit, and credit transactions, and provide professional customer service.
• Other duties as it relates to food service may be required.

Salary Information

CG20 - $ 21.26 - $ 23.06 per hour.

Screening Criteria

• Graduation from high school ( equivalencies to be considered).
• Recent, relevant experience working in an institutional and/or industrial kitchen.

Assessment Criteria

• Knowledge of the food service industry including food safety and sanitation.
• Knowledge of a computerized cash register/system.
• Ability to deliver exceptional customer service.
• Ability to effectively exchange information.
• Ability to manage time and tasks.

Conditions of Offer

• When requested by the Employer, a recent and satisfactory Certificate of Conduct must be provided.

Conditions of Acceptance

• May require periods of kneeling, bending, walking and standing, which may result in fatigue; lifting and moving of objects; and occasionally using machinery and equipment.
• Shift work and weekend work is required.
