Job summary

Interior Health seeks a Casual Food Service Worker to join the Support Services Team at Princeton General Hospital in Princeton, BC. The role involves portioning and serving meals, counting and preparing ingredients, washing produce, assembling beverages and meals, delivering meal carts, and maintaining clean food service areas.

Shifts are days and evenings in a rotating schedule (06:00–13:00, 11:30–18:30).

Qualifications

• Grade 10, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Food Safe Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Portioning and serving meals and beverages within a dining room and/or cafeteria operation.
• Counts, weighs and/or measures ingredients for assigned food preparation area.
• Washing and peeling vegetables and fruit.
• Assembles beverages and food items - tea, coffee, sandwiches, salads, bag lunches, items for Meals on Wheels program.
• Setting up and delivering meal carts.
• Cleaning of food service areas.

This is a Casual opportunity. Casual Employees are not guaranteed hours of work and can range from 0-37.5 hours per week on an as-needed basis.

Shifts of work will be scheduled days and evenings rotating from 06:00 to 13:00, 11:30 to 18:30 hours.
