Job summary

Interior Health is seeking a reliable Food Service Worker to join the Support Services team at Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops, BC. The role involves portioning and serving meals, preparing ingredients, and delivering meals in a fast-paced environment.

Shifts rotate evenings from 11:45 to 19:55. This is a Relief Full Time position until the incumbent returns, with benefits including vacation, health benefits, and pension.

Qualifications

• Grade 10 or equivalent education.
• Food Safe Certificate is required.

Responsibilities

• Portioning and serving meals and beverages in dining room/cafeteria.
• Counts, weighs and measures ingredients for food prep area.
• Washes and peels vegetables and fruit.
• Assembles beverages and food items (tea, coffee, sandwiches, salads, bag lunches, Meals on Wheels items).
• Sets up and delivers meal carts.
• Cleans food service areas.

• Portioning and serving meals and beverages within a dining room and/or cafeteria operation.
• Counts, weighs and/or measures ingredients for assigned food preparation area.
• Washing and peeling vegetables and fruit.
• Assembles beverages and food items - tea, coffee, sandwiches, salads, bag lunches, items for Meals on Wheels program.
• Setting up and delivering meal carts.
• Cleaning of food service areas.

This is a Relief Full Time (1.00) opportunity until the return of the incumbent.

Shifts of work will be scheduled rotating evenings, working from 11:45 to 19:55.
